Notes

first runnings 1.085. collected 8.6 gallons instead of 7.66, decided to boil it all - hence this "actual" version of the recipe, vs. the original 6 gal batch. OG 1.066. thanks to kettle loss (wort loss due mostly to hop retention), i ended up with just a fraction over 6 gallons. slightly over-pitched the US-05 (1.8 packets instead of MrMalty's recommended 1.3). pitched around 4 or 5 pm, had fermentation started (but not full-blown) the next morning. first 24 hours have been at 64-66*F. dry hopped with 4 oz Galaxy, 2 oz Simcoe (from NHC 2013!) on Wed July 3. cold-crashed for 2 days prior to bottling. bottled 5.25 gals on July 9. refract: 1.033 uncorrected, 1.012 corrected.

really, really tasty. huge hop aroma. based on this experience i prefer galaxy to citra. the yeast is incorrect: i wanted to use Conan, but i didn't have enough available at the time so i went with ol' US-05.
