Notes

- Mash ramped up slowly from 140 to 156 over the hour. - Efficiency was lower than expected - preboil was 1.061 instead ot 1.067, added corn sugar to wort during end of boil to bring gravity up, 1.078 to the fermenter - Mash pH 5.2 - sparge water pH 6.4 - ~ 2g CaSO4 added to boil - initial temp in fermenter 88° F - put outside for a while to cool - 2 pkgs dry yeast rehydrated in 85° F water and sat around for an hour before pitching - 3/19/16 (22 days) added cocoa nibs and dumped trub - 3/30/16 kegged with ~1L cold coffee extract - finished at 1.030 Got 1.5 gallons second runnings at 1.027. Steeped 4 oz C60, added .2 oz East Kent Goldings first wort , .2 oz Hallertau Mittelfrueh 30 minutes, 0.1 oz Hallertau Mittelfrueh 5 minutes, 1/4 t yeast nutrient, pitched with a package of S-23 to make a small dark lager. Slightly less than one gallon to fermenter OG 1.046/FG 1.017/3.88% ABV Kegged 4/9/16
