Taste Notes

Superb IPA fruity, citrusy, slightly piney. crisp flavourful and fragrant. Not too bitter at all. Nice orange amber colour and malty base is a tasty backdrop for all those hops. Body is medium to heavy

Notes

Brewday: Since my HLT is only 8 gallons, put 2.5 gallons in stainless grant until hlt volume drops by 10 liters Keep temp hotter to allow for quicker cooling due to smaller size. Had to remove about a pound of mash as MT was too full. rotated the pound back in several times throughout. Steep hops: waited until temp in BK dropped to 185 to ensure no extra bitterness. Dryhop: after high krausen in the Primary for 5 days only. Dry hopped at day 9 as this brew fermented vigourously for the first 8 days, as soon as it starts to slow add dry hops while still bubbling. By the time 5 days is over, the beer is finished except for clearing. Hops settled out nicely. When transferring to carboys , Lots of fresh fruit aroma with no off flavours. Left in carboys only 2 or 3 days as the yeast dropped out and beer cleared quickly, wanted to cold store it ASAP to keep hop oils fresh. Used cheesecloth filterbag on end of transfer hose to kegs to catch remaining suspended dry hops.
