Taste Notes

Decent Porter. Far too much cardamom. Cut in half. Tastes very clove-like. Not sure if that was the fermentation or if it was the cardamom. Nice vanilla flavor. One first place (tie) at the 2012 Lancaster County Brewer's Club Christmas Party Porter Competiton. Still need to back off the cardamom.

Notes

Toast oats at 325 deg. for 35-40 minutes and turn every 15 minutes. 1 tsp. of cardamom at end of boil. Lactose and 1 teaspoons of vanilla at kegging. Very funky fermentation. Almost no krausen and looks a bit like tar pits.
