Notes
Measured OG morning after.
OG 1064 @ 54 degrees pitcheed 2 packets of Saflager s-23.
Things that went wrong:
1. Towel set on fire.
2. Bag burned to bottom of kettle
3. Bag split open and grains went everywhere
4. Wort chiller pissed in the wort
5. It's all Ryan's fault.
Hoping for a sour smokey maibock with pieces of nylon in the body.
Did a protein rest @ 120, mash @ 152, mash out 170.
1018 on 2/27/2015 @ 38 degrees (did not adjust for temp, this is what the hydrometer read at the temp)
malty malty malty malty malty. not sure if smokeyness is psychological or actually there. If it is present, it is so minimal you can hardly detect it. Overall, i'm very happy with how this tastes uncarbed. I drank the entire hydrometer happily. I would say 2 more weeks lager til bottle. Then I'm going to take a shit in the bottling bucket and blame it on ryanThis Recipe Has Not Been Rated
