Notes

Freezing out-Windy as hell- boil times took forever. Mashed at 152-154 for 70 minutes Sparge/Soaked @ 165 for 20 minutes. Drained bag/ Added wort from mash. Added 3lbs LME Boiled for 30 minutes Added 1oz Chinook- 30 minute boil 1oz Cascade-5.5- 30 minutes .5oz Centennial- 30 minutes Whilrfloc-15 minutes 2lbs-LME- 15 minutes placed chiller in kettle-15 minutes Flame out- 1oz chinook .5 oz Centennial @ Kettle drain 1/19/13 brew Mashed at 148-151 for 75 needed to raise mash temp- for my equiptment strike temp should be around 175. wort hopped with 1oz chinook. added 1 oz at 60. .5 cascade at 30 1.5 oz cascade at 5 minutes 1oz centenial at 0 minutes 1l yeast starter of 1056. took of slowly- day 2 blow off tube cranking. started at 68 then dropped to 62 on day 3/4. 6/20 Brew Added 8 oz oats- mashed at 148. 30 minute sparge mash at 152 1oz chinook @60 1oz cascade @15 1oz columbus @ 0 1oz amarillo @0 1oz chinook @160 chill Dry Hop- 1oz Amarillo Dry Hop 1oz Centennial pre boil gravity 155 post boil 158- 8/23-pre-boil 1.072!! OG 170 FG 1.014 Bottled on 9/16 11/14 brew. Sub Columbus for Chinook. FWH- no 60 min addition left out 30 min cascade Flameout added 2 oz Amarillo, 1.5 oz centennial after 10 days gravity was 1.018. Added 1 oz amarillo, 2.5 oz centennial Gonna sit fro 14 more days then bottle FG 1.012 2/2/14 Brew day New Spike Kettle 4/5
