Notes

2/24/2013 Brewed beer. Accidentally added 1 lb of flaked rye instead of .5 lbs. We will see what happens later on with that amount of flaked rye. From sparge I measured about 7.75 gallons of wort and boiled for 80 minutes. Ended up with close to 6 gallons liquid after boil. Should cut back to 7.25 gallons or so. 3/1/2013 transfer to secondary. Seemed a little grainy but I believe it will smooth out nicely over time. Think it is going to be a good beer. Gravity was down to 1.013 so using a starter seems to have helped the fermentation. Also my mash was at 154F so might have had more fermentables available to convert than in previous mashes where I mashed at 156F or so.
