Nicely, but not overly spiced

A lot of people complain that pumpkin ales are too much like pumpkin pie in a glass. This one balances nicely... Spiced, but not 'knock you over' spiced. There's a note of real pumpkin here; I think next time I would round the Rausch malt I used up to 4 oz to provide a touch more of the smoky undertone... It gives the brew a certain something that helps it stand apart. I would definitely re-brew this.

big hit with all my neighbors, i added slightly more spice however, next time i will add the exact amount. everyone loved it i didnt add the smoke because teh store didnt have any

Have you tried this as a lager?

Just kegged. Its a solid pumpkin beer. Nice bite to balance the sweetness as I increased the smoked to almost double.
