Taste Notes

Tasted before dry hopping. Plenty of fruity flavors. A bit sweet still. Nice color. Will be very interesting to see how it turns out! :) Nice bitterness behind the fruity flavors. Became more of a session since I missed to account for the 2L of starter I added, not only the yeast. Also came up short on post mash gravity. Had 1.060 into fermenter before I added 2l of starter. First time used the Grainfather. Will stir, mid mashing next time. The recipe has potential though. Will try it again. Perhaps with some more caramel malt or higher mash temp. Nice hop flavors and aroma. Just need to boost the grain bill to match.

Notes

Ph 4,8. May be because of star-saned syphon and relative small volume of beer? V2: 5,3 in mash ph only with salts! Add 40g hop 60 min 30 min: 5 g centennial, 15g Amarillo same 25g Cascade +10g Simcoe 5 min: adda 14 g Simcoe 0min: 37g mosaic istället för 27 Sparge acid 3ml No at mash. Fermentation took 14 days, very slow. Was going to rack over to secondary after 7 days but measured gravity to 1,030 so had to transfer back the 4L that had been transferred already and add dry hops into primary. Dry hoped for remaining 7 days while still fermenting. Good aroma anyways on the finnshed beer, but should bee even better if primary is more or less finnished before adding the dry hops. I think it should be some fermenting going on still when adding the dryhops to take care of oxygen added in the dry hoping procedure. 19.5l worth into fermenter. Lots of liquid lost due to hop cones.
