Taste Notes

Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild brewed slightly stronger than the actual Graham Wheeler recipe which i have used. Dark rich elequant caramel flavour extremely moreish OG 1.060 SG1.064

Notes

I mashed for 90 mins followed by a mash out and ended up doing a 55 mins sparge. and a 90 minute boil. Which i pitched at 21c into FV. I bottled at 19c @ 2.1 Co2 vols and it came out at 6.9% Abv on my Grainfather. The beer needs time to mature but was lovely after 6 weeks which i won a beer challenge with this beer at my craft brewery home brew club. The beer was made for my friends sons house warming party which got delayed and he encouraged me to enter the beer into my home towns beer festival home brew challenge because he thought it so good and i won my category and came second overall. I actually finished one of the last bottles at the previously mentioned party which was delayed til last weekend and it was absolutely marvelous after 5 months. The Sarah Hughes is a very popular beer here in the heart of england and the increased malt gave it a much richer flavour which i have drank mine side by side with thh original and i honestly thought this version was better. However you could not drink too many of mine where as the Original you could have a good few, lol
