Notes

This is our version of Bateman's Combined Harvest Ale. The first bottle of it we had was absolute magic. Unfortunately in subsequent years the beer was always far too sweet, as if they had some sort of production failure at the brewery. We couldn't drink it that way, but made sure our recipe matched up with Combined Harvest when it was at its best. Can use Challenger hops instead of Pheonix, and Bramling Cross or Kent Goldings instead of Target. Bottled version is 4.7% ABV, but the cask version is 4.4% ABV. Bateman's uses two strains of yeast to make this beer. Most similar candidates are English Ale and London Ale. The original has a subtle hint of orange citrus to it. No mention of any fruit added, but could try some sweet orange peel to simulate that.
