Created 3 L starter (300mg LME/3000 mL Spring H20) --> robust growth from all 6 available Mason jars, poured ~16 oz. (500 mL) into sanitized Mason jar

Tues. 2016/02/02:
Will use HopShot for bittering additions: 1mL provides 10 IBU in 5 gallons 1.050 wort; 1.080 wort decreases hop utilization by ~10%:
100 IBU/10 IBU/mL = 10 mL (no correction for 5.50 gallons) + 10%
Mash T = 150.2 deg F (target 150 deg F --> heated to goal water T - 165 deg F, ~1 degree greater than T for "Adjust Temp for Equipment" - with burner inside)
Mash pH = <5.0 (between 4.6-50 based on pH strips)
End-of Mash T = 1.0 deg F
Mash Out T = variable depending on where measured (target 168 deg F --> heated to goal water T - 210.5 deg F - with burner inside)
Pre-boil gravity = 1.052 (target = 1.056)
Pre-boil V = 7.00
Use 3 post-boil hop additions:
1. Flame-out - whirlpool x 15 minutes (q5')
2. 180 deg F - whirlpool x 15 minutes (q5')
3. 120 deg F - whirlpool x 15 minutes (q5')
O.G. = 1.070, ~9% potential ABV, ~17 Brix
Post-boil V = 5.50 gal (approximately in brew kettle)
