Notes

Heated mash water in 20gal mash tun, added grain, temp was 155-156° , 2-3° high. Used grant to collect wort by gravity and recirculate with pump, and heat mash tun to keep at 153°F. Worked great. Used hop spider during boil. Used plate chiller into fermenter at 66°F, pitched yeast. I used Mangrove Jack M10 Workhorse and Don used Mangrove Jack M79 Burton Union yeast. Had some fermentation activity the next morning, by 24 hours had a nice krausen and going very well at 36h. Temp 66-67°F. 2.24.14 Ferm peaked and started to slow. hit 70°, cooled to 67° 2.25.14 Temp about 64°, put heat belt on to warm up, ferm much slower. 3.3.14 Ferm finished, racked to secondary, FG 1.014. 76% attenuation. Had at least an extra 1/2 gallon that I chucked. 3.8.14 Kegged and carbonated. New Notes: Had 4 50ml tubes of Munich Lager yeast from 12.15.15 Vienna Lager starter. Pitched into 1L starter for 24h, crashed for 24h decanted and poured in a 3L starter. 7 gallons strike water = 5.25ml PA 6 gallons total in HLT for sparge = 1.5ml PA
