Notes

8:20 - Brewery start up 8:40 - Mash in w/12.5 qts, mash temp measured @ 151.5 (-.5 from target) 9:30 - Fired sparge water 9:55 - Collected 2.25g of first runnings @ 19.2 (1.078) 10:05 - Added Magnum First Wort hops NOTE: After what looked like a clear vorlauf, got a lot of grain particles in the BK. :( 10:15 - Collected a total of 7.75g @ 10.8 (1.042) NOTE: Still seem to get a bunch of grain particles right when the tun finishes draining 10:20 - Fired burner for boil 10:30 - Boil and break 11:30 - Boil complete, chiller started 11:40 - Stopped chilling, added steep hops (only did 2 oz Cascade) 12:10 - Started chilling again (wort @ 154) 12:30 - Wort @ 104 12:50 - Wort @ 65 using recirculating pump through IC NOTE: Used 2x 20lb bags of ice, but had plenty of ice left, so could probably only use one 1:30 - Fermenter filled with 5.25g @ 1.051 (+.02 from target) NOTE: LOTS of trub clogged the stainless scrubbie. After 4g drain into fermenter, had to use strainer to get remaining 1.25g. Had some minor activity in the fermenter within a couple of hours. By 9:30 pm, the krausen is very thick, and fermentation is definitely active (no bubbles, can't seal the lid!)
